During the first seven days of the Lunar New Year Golden Week, Macau charted 1.2125 million tourist arrivals, Citi said in a research report. On February 19, the single-day visitor count reached 227,900, marking a historical single-day high. Mainland Chinese tourists accounted for approximately 76.9% of the total visitors, while Hong Kong tourists made up about 16.5%. The broker viewed that this encouraging visitation trend tracks well and aligns with the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO)'s forecasts. Citi forecast Macau's GGR for February 2026 to be MOP20 billion, representing a YoY growth of 1%, reaching approximately 79% of the level in February 2019. Specifically, the broker expected the daily run-rate during February 19 to 23 to be around MOP1.1 billion, while the daily run-rate for other days in February was projected to be about MOP750 million.
