<H Shrs>HSI Opens 94 Pts Higher as Gold & Silver Miners Surge; POP MART Leaps 4%+

The HSI opened 94 points or 0.4% higher at 26,844. The HSCEI opened 27 points or 0.3% higher at 9,188. The HSTECH opened 3 points or less than 0.1% higher at 5,801. BABA-W (09988.HK) lifted 0.6%, while TENCENT (00700.HK) opened flat at $595 as there are reports that China has in principle approved BABA-W, TENCENT and ByteDance to purchase Nvidia (NVDA.US)'s H200 chips. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) slid 0.9% and 0.5%. For other major techs, KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) opened flat at $81.25, while MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) added 0.4-1%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) shed 2%. Spot gold rose above US$5,000, while silver climbed to US$105. CHI SILVER GP (00815.HK) mounted 2.9%, while SD GOLD (01787.HK) and ZHAOJIN MINING (01818.HK) elevated 3.4% and 3.2%. ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) ballooned 2.9% on the commencement of production of Phase 2 of the Julong Copper Mine. Resource stocks JIANGXI COPPER (00358.HK) and CMOC (03993.HK) jumped up 2.4% and 3.8%. CKH HOLDINGS (00001.HK) advanced 1.6% as it reportedly planned to advance its port sale by splitting deal into separate parcels, with different ownership structures. POP MART (09992.HK) leaped 4.3% as it launched a co-branded trendy phone with Honor, with Honor reportedly being sought after on second-hand trading platforms.
