G Sachs: US Hedge Funds' CN ADR Positions Rise to Highest Since End-2021 as of End-Sep

U.S. hedge funds increased stakes in U.S.-listed Chinese ADRs in 3Q, with most purchases in JD.com (JD.US) and GDS Holdings (GDS.US), according to a report by Goldman Sachs, cited Reuters. U.S. hedge fund positions in Chinese ADRs rose to the highest level since the end of 2021.

About 25% of U.S. long and short equity funds had long positions in at least one Chinese ADR at the start of 4Q24, with the top hedge fund holding being JD.com, which was held by 47 hedge funds, representing a net increase of 26 QoQ, report said. It was followed by GDS and ATAT (ATAT.US).
