Song Yingjie, a second-level researcher at the department of consumption promotion of China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC), said that the MOC will plan ahead for next year's car trade-in policy, with an aim to stabilize market expectations and improve car-related policies to facilitate convenient transactions of second-hand cars.

The current number of applications for car scrapping and renewal as well as trade-in renewals in the Mainland has exceeded 2 million, totaling more than 4 million, Song mentioned. Meanwhile, the daily average subsidy application volume remained at a high level, driving a YoY surge of over 50% in the recycling volume of scrapped cars in 10M24.
