U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly plans to hold off the imposition of certain tariffs originally scheduled for April 2. Buoyed by this news, U.S. stock market rallied on Monday.

The DJIA surged 597 points, or 1.4%, closing at 42,583. The Nasdaq led the gains, climbing 404 points, or 2.3%, to rest at 18,188. The S&P 500 rose 100 points, or 1.8%, settling at 5,767.
